viking houses

So the basic shape of the houses will be triangular. moving the virts and edges around gives the triangular roof look more believable.

T
he base shape is used throughout the houses each time something slightly changed, this makes each house different yet keeps to the theme of the village.

detailed texture sheets. this gives the illusion that models are higher polly than they are. just a few more unwrapps and they will be finished.

village layout

layout for the village.

AIM

To create a small environment of a Viking village in a simplistic ‘cartoon-art’ style. This will contain various buildings, scenery and objects found in the late 8th–11th Centuries. The environment itself will contain an animated stream running through the village to the sea with cliffs surrounding the rest of the village to set the scene.

The Viking village will be created relatively low poly in 3DS Max with a variety of houses and buildings, rendered out in multiple camera shots using the cameras in 3DS Max and edited in Adobe After Effects to create a short two to three minute show reel.

This will be the start of a personal portfolio for an environmental artist job in the future.
